Jake chased my mom all thru her house & even peeed on her cabinets. He wasn't the slightest bit interested in the whole Christmas process... even cried when Kim tried to get him to open a few gifts.
We had a mini-shower for Kim :-) That was fun!
Mom & I took Jake to Ed Venture in Columbia, it was an over-priced, but fun adventure.
We shopped every day, except Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. May seem harsh, but there really aren't a lot of shopping options where we live... Wal-mart... K-mart.. and TJ Maxx. Otherwise, you have to make a 45 min trip to "strip center stores" and Target... or an hour drive to Sacramento for a mall.
Anyways... it was wonderful! We returned home to Chad on the 4th.
Next up... Jake turns 1!!! I took him to get portraits made at Wal-mart today, while we got the oil changed... and found out there was no oil in the car!!!
I am having a "caterpillar" themed party, coz the 2 gifts I have for Jake are caterpillars...one an Einstein tub toy... the other is a stuffed creature, with "shoes" that you can, buckle, tie, button, snap, velcro, etc. A most useful creature.
What i can't seem to find are caterpillar related party supplies. I have made my own invites with card stock, pom-poms, and glitter glue. the cake will be a cupcake arrangement, and maybe a big cake with some gummy worms on it....
ideas????

You could make a "mud pie" and buy gummy worms to put in it. Not exactly caterpillars, but close right? Here is a link to the yummy pie that doesn't really use mud...just looks like it. Ha ha ha! http://southernfood.about.com/od/

I haven't tried this specific recipe, but there are a lot out there if you want to see more, just google "mud pie, recipe"
Happy Birthday Jake!
