Been A LONG time....

SO,
It has been forever. Feb 2007 is knocking at our door, good coz that means we get paid :-)

JAN - was good... Jake turned 2!! I turned 32 :-/ We saw our families for the holidays & even a few friends in Dallas. Found out a few others are expecting!! YEY!! CONGRATS to Jan, Miche, Brooke, Melody!!!!

Upcoming: 2/14 we find out about baby #2... it doesn't really have a "nickname" at this point. Guess most commonly known as Jake Jr. Otherwise, Feb is a nice short month. Maybe we'll get some rain/snow someday....

For my East Coast & Texas friends, we live in Monsoon type area... no rain (or clouds) all summer long... then Oct - April it rains/snows about every other day. Well, it's been sunny & 50-70 degrees thus far this winter. I think there was a snow while i was traveling... and we got one in November. A lot of apples & grapes & berries live up here that need water!!

anyway... enough about the weather.

Don't want to make this one too long, so I'll stop here. Don't know if anyone is even still checking to see if i update anymore.

Lotsa love!!

Spring has Sprung

Well, maybe for some of my more southernly friends & family, but for us in N. CA, we got SNOW!!! I was on my way home from my scrapbooking class down-the-mountain, around 12:30 today in a nice drizzle. I even got all the way to my exit with no sign of the dreaded white stuff... no sooner than we started lunch, here it came... and not just a few flakes drifting slowly down, no.... a snow shower, which even now at 11pm, it's still snowing. This photo is from the first March snow... we're on #3 or 4 now.

Well, I just finished looking at my new nephew's Christening photos from this past Sunday... SOOOO cute!!! Can't wait to see him in May!

Jake: Is climbing things & then he does a dance on top of them. He likes standing on/in anything... lids, cake pans, drawers (including the one under the stove), etc. He's funny. He loves board books, & I'm reading him Harry Potter (don't shudder in horror). It has nice big words that you don't hear everyday & i get to remember what words & real sentences look & sound like. Besides, i've had the book for about a year & haven't cracked a page.

He LOVES shredded wheat cereal & Cheerios. He likes eggs, kidney beans, carrott slices, kiwi, oranges, apples, pears, bananas, broccoli, mac & cheese, oatmeal, peanut butter on wheat tortillas or pita bread, likes yogurt... Though i've found I can't feed him the same thing 2 days in a row, or he doesn't want it (not including the cereal). He wants whatever we're eating. So, he's had some Chinese on occassion, greek twice, likes pizza, & he gets 1/4 bagel at church on Sunday.

So, any of you with mini videos from your digital cameras, Snapfish is now hosting video for less than $3 a month. I have loaded Jake's videos there for family to see, and my new camera captures sound, too, so they can hear him babbling. I have a really cute one of him in the church nursery playing with this car... he can get in & out!! He loves this thing! He also likes the grocery store carts that look like cars. :-)

We're back!

Howdy! We had a few weeks with no internet connection in the house... but it's all better now!

Jake is all better as well. At his one year check-up, they gave him shots AND put him on an antibiotic on the same day. The next week he broke out in hives. That was NO fun. Poor little itchy man. Fortunately, the antibiotic had already done it's job, so we took him off of that. The dr. said to assume it was an allergic reaction to the penicillin, but several other moms have told me of bad reactions to the MMR shot. Well, he doesn't get another one of those 'til kindergarten.

He weighed in at 20 lbs. even (fully clothed). and was 30 1/2" tall. Tall & skinny they said.

Don't think we have to go back for awhile...

Well, Chad has already given me my Valentine's present... a new digital camera!!! YEY! We got ours for our honeymoon, so it's almost 3 years old. And since i LOVE to take photos of my mini-man... i'm super happy! He's also getting me a thin Bible, coz it's challenging lugging the huge Study Bible, and a baby, and a diaper bag, and whatever else to church on Sunday morning. Chad has to go in earlier so he isn't around to help carry.

Snow photo is from Winter Camp & our trip up the mountain to play in the snow. Jake was NOT fond of snow... cold, wet... what's to like ;-)

After Christmas

Well, the holidays are over... seems like forever, but they were GREAT!!! Jake and I had a wonderful time with my mom & sister! (and Jon & grandma & Jim). Jake had his photo made with Santa, a terrifying experience. Somehow the evidence has vanished...

Jake chased my mom all thru her house & even peeed on her cabinets. He wasn't the slightest bit interested in the whole Christmas process... even cried when Kim tried to get him to open a few gifts.

We had a mini-shower for Kim :-) That was fun!

Mom & I took Jake to Ed Venture in Columbia, it was an over-priced, but fun adventure.

We shopped every day, except Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. May seem harsh, but there really aren't a lot of shopping options where we live... Wal-mart... K-mart.. and TJ Maxx. Otherwise, you have to make a 45 min trip to "strip center stores" and Target... or an hour drive to Sacramento for a mall.

Anyways... it was wonderful! We returned home to Chad on the 4th.

Next up... Jake turns 1!!! I took him to get portraits made at Wal-mart today, while we got the oil changed... and found out there was no oil in the car!!! Those won't be ready til the 4th of Feb. The party is next Friday. Chad's mom is flying in for a long weekend FUN!!!!

I am having a "caterpillar" themed party, coz the 2 gifts I have for Jake are caterpillars...one an Einstein tub toy... the other is a stuffed creature, with "shoes" that you can, buckle, tie, button, snap, velcro, etc. A most useful creature.

What i can't seem to find are caterpillar related party supplies. I have made my own invites with card stock, pom-poms, and glitter glue. the cake will be a cupcake arrangement, and maybe a big cake with some gummy worms on it....

ideas????

We're Here

YEY!!! I can finally log on & add to our site!

We all made it safely to Camino, CA. Email me for our new address.

Chad loves his job! We both love all the wonderful people we have met over the last few weeks. The weather is interesting. There is a Christmas tree farm next door, and across the street. People drive up from Sacramento & come chop down their tree. This house & next door have large apple orchards... You can see the snow covered mountains in the distance from the deck. We had our first snow back in November.

Can't believe Christmas is a week away!!! Jake & I head home to see Kim & Mom & Grandma on Monday night! We fly out a midnight!!! ugh. that should be interesting. I'm soooo excited to be going home! Can't wait to see my little sister & her tummy with my nephew inside!!!

Merry Christmas to ALL!!!!

Jake sick

Jake went to the doctor this afternoon... has minor ear infection (not bad for being almost 10 months without one!). Dad has gone to pick up his meds. We got his shot records for the move.

Soon we will head to Grandma & Grandpa's for an early Turkey Day celebration with Chad's family. This will be good, coz we don't know when we will see them next.

Photo is from yesterday... of course, by time i got out the camera, he's stopped looking cute :-)

Greetings & Salutations

We've just entered the realm of the BLOG... I'm not even sure what it means, but HEY! We're in! We are in the countdown to our move to Camino, CA... 6 days... goodness. So much to pack, so little time.... wouldn't be too bad, but we have to schedule in "goodbye" time for family & friends(which is a good thing).

Jake & I are both sick... he passed his snot on to me... Thanks.

He is hanging onto the side of my chair, babbling... soon he will crawl off to eat kitty food with Aggie, our boy cat. Jake's favorite is kitty food. He really wouldn't eat any breakfast... so, maybe it's not such a bad idea; kidding!!!!

Well, time to do some work. :-)
